Game Objective

The primary goal of Straight Dominoes is to accumulate the target matching score (e.g., 150 points) over several hands before your opponent. Points are earned both during active placement turns and at the conclusion of each hand round.

Core Mechanics & Gameplay Rules

  • • Hand Structure: Each player is dealt exactly 7 tiles from a shuffled double-six pool.
  • • First Play Constraint: The opening move of the match must strictly be a double tile (Spinner rule).
  • • Boneyard and Passing Rules: If unable or choosing not to make a valid matching play, players draw from the remaining stock. If a player draws from the boneyard and still has no valid play (or elects not to play), they are permitted to Pass their turn directly to the opponent.

Configuration Parameter Guide

  • • Target Threshold: Sets the ultimate tournament finish line score (100, 150, or 250 points) required to secure a match victory.
  • • Use Boneyard (Drawing): Enables the deck pool stock. When active, missing plays require drawing tiles. When disabled, unplayable turns result in immediate direct passes.
  • • Use Multiples of 5 (Muggins): Validates board state end sums. If the total of all open endpoints equals a multiple of 5, that value is immediately added to the player's score.
  • • Cap Spinner Sides First: Controls the restriction profile on spinner branching. When checked, the left and right horizontal sides of the spinner must be played on first before the top and bottom endpoints unlock. When unchecked (default), all four sides of the spinner are open to receive legal matching plays immediately from the opening play.
  • • Show Me the Money: Predictive hint helper. When checked, a green dollar sign ($) floating icon pops up over any tile in your hand that can be legally placed to secure immediate scoring points.
  • • Blocked Game Protocol: If the boneyard becomes entirely depleted and neither player can execute a legal match placement, a Blocked Game is declared. Both players tally the pips remaining in their hands. The player with the lowest total pip count wins the round and is awarded the difference between their opponent's hand count and their own, rounded to the nearest multiple of 5.
