Baccarat Guide & Variations

Core Objective & Card Values

  • Objective: Bet on whether the Player or Banker hand total finishes closest to 9, or on a Tie.
  • Card Values: Aces = 1 | 2 through 9 = Face value | 10, Jack, Queen, King = 0.
  • Hand Value: Sum of cards modulo 10 (e.g., 7 + 8 = 15 → Hand total is 5).
  • Naturals: An initial 2-card total of 8 or 9 ends the hand immediately with no further draws.

Side Bets & Payouts (Optional)

  • Player Pair (11:1): First two cards dealt to the player form an identical pair.
  • Banker Pair (11:1): First two cards dealt to the banker form an identical pair.
  • Dragon 7 (40:1): (EZ Baccarat) Banker wins with a 3-card total of 7.
  • Panda 8 (25:1): (EZ Baccarat) Player wins with a 3-card total of 8.
  • Super 6 Bonus (12:1): (Super 6) Banker wins specifically with a total of 6.

Drawing Rules (Tableau)

  • Player: Draws 3rd card on 0–5; Stands on 6–7.
  • Banker: Draws or stands based on its 2-card total and the value of the Player's 3rd card.

Game Variations

  • Punto Banco: Traditional rules. Player wins pay 1:1. Banker wins pay 0.95:1 (5% house commission).
  • EZ Baccarat: Commission-free on Banker wins (pays 1:1). Exception: Banker 3-card 7 is a push.
  • Super 6: Commission-free on standard Banker wins (1:1). Exception: Banker winning on 6 pays 50%.
  • Tie Bet: Pays 8:1 (or 9:1). Player and Banker bets push on a Tie.

Reading the Roads (Scoreboards)

  • Bead Road: Displays the exact sequential chronological outcome of every hand played. Filled circles are placed top-to-bottom in 6-row columns, moving to the next column when full.
    • Blue (P): Player Win
    • Red (B): Banker Win
    • Green (T): Tie
  • Big Road: Tracks winning streaks and side changes. Hollow circles represent outcomes:
    • Blue Ring: Player streak
    • Red Ring: Banker streak
    • Column Movement: Consecutive wins by the same side stack downward. When the winning side changes (e.g., from Banker to Player), a new column begins at the top.
    • Dragon Tails: If a single streak exceeds 6 consecutive wins, it turns horizontally right along the bottom row.
    • Ties: Ties do not start a new column.
